March 20 is the 24-hour-long excuse macaron lovers look forward to all year to celebrate their favorite dessert.
Pierre Hermé declared the first “Jour du Macaron” in 2005, to bring the French delicacy into the international spotlight and raise money for his charity. It has since become an international phenomenon. To honor this joyous occasion, on this day shops around the globe offer up free macarons. Here’s where you indulge in the day and pick up your complimentary sweet treat.
